MAKE A DONATION

YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

All of our events, materials and outreach are directly funded and operated by our donors, partners, and grants. Every donation, no matter how small, powers our education programing, outreach and preservation efforts.

You can donate directly to the historical marker program. Our goal is to identify and advocate for public recognition of Reconstruction history in New Orleans. Your donation will help us give visibility to an era that has been hidden or misrepresented for too long.

The Plessy and Ferguson Initiative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Major Donor/Legacy/Estate Planning

Currently there are 5 Historical Markers throughout New Orleans that acknowledge the contributions and achievements of African Americans. Your donation can help us create another stop on the New Orleans Civil Rights trail! Please put “Marker” in the memo section.

Since its inception, the Plessy and Ferguson Initiative has operated from the private homes of its volunteer staff and board. As our work expands, the demand for a consistent physical location to hold reconciliation workshops, host visitors and public forums, and provide educational programs for students has also increased. A donation to the Operations Fund would contribute to help secure this needed space. Please consider donating to the Operations Fund by putting “operations” in the memo section.

Are you interested in a larger commitment to the future and resiliency of the Plessy & Ferguson Initiative? Cement you or your family’s future legacy by including a donation to our nonprofit through your estate planning. Create a lasting impact for future generations and make a statement about the importance of history and preservation. Coming soon!
